Overland Park, KS, November 2, 2011–MIQ Logistics was proud to be an Inspector Level sponsor of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition when it returned to the greater Kansas City region in July 2011. The company supported the transformation of the selected home through financial donations and the volunteerism of its employees.
“Demonstrating good citizenship is one of the core values that form the bedrock of our company,” says John Carr, president and chief operating officer – MIQ Logistics. “That’s why I am so pleased – but not surprised – that our employees donated over 200 volunteer hours to the show’s “Connecting Hearts in the Heartland” episode. That’s more than an hour for every employee in our Overland Park world headquarters and four times our originally proposed commitment.”
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is a televised race against time. A team of designers, contractors, and workers has seven days to totally rebuild an entire house, including exterior and landscaping, for the well-deserving family chosen by the show. To date, the show has built 191 houses and a variety of other facilities including firehouses, churches, and community centers. All money raised through sponsorship packages pays for building materials not donated. Any remaining funds are given to the family to maintain the home in the future.
The unveiling of the new home in Kansas will be aired in a two-hour episode at 7 p.m., CT Friday, November 4th on ABC.
